The Christmas Episode by Studio 60
Its funny, just a few months ago, I could not write if there was not music playing. Or the television in the other room, or if I was not around other people. Somehow that noise, and vibration flavored the experience of putting it down, or typing. Now I can’t write with noise. I just shut off itunes so that I could be free of the sound, and type this paragraph. This is the first time since college.
In college, I was a film student for 1 semester. I edited with my cd walkman playing, or a the tape walkman and mix tapes from a girl named Amanda. My movies felt like they moved like the songs. They were all short, silent pieces in black and white, but at the same time they felt like they moved like Jane’s Addiction, or Nick Drake, or the Bosstones. It just moved in a way that felt like that.
So I have been at the new job for nearly two weeks now. I am honestly pretty excited about the whole thing. I have gear, all the gear that I had at the radio station and never used. But now it is all I am going to be using. A giant Mac Pro, and good ESP gear.
I wish a lot of my life was differant now. So much of it is really just sort of out the window, that I do not care. I have to literally tie down the things I am controlling, and release the rest of it.
I gotta go mow the lawn.
